Unfettered
An invitation to the groovy, intergalactic, otherworldly, kaiju kitty party
Below is a transcription of this behind the scenes video that I put together for week 4 of the Paris Collage Collective workbook. I hope you enjoy! Also if your brain were a car, which one would it be?
I should know by now that it’s never the first idea. Let’s just say the words rattling around in my noodle were “space ooze.” I guess we’ll never know how that would have turned out because I made this groovy, intergalactic, otherworldly, kaiju kitty party instead. For this week, I sat down with some old, scratch that, vintage nat geos I had been hanging onto for some “special” day, and I let that internal light bulb of excitement show me the way. The first image I pulled was of the couple in the right hand corner, and the rest was history. (I mean literally, these issues were from the 70s and the hesitation of using them on the “right” piece kept me from ever using them at all. Note to self: there will always be more. If it feels right, use it.)
If my brain were a car, then I found that my wheels weren’t getting stuck in the mud. I had momentum, laughter, and no real expectation in the outcome. Also if my brain were a car, it would be a 1969 Plymouth Barracuda. It’s fast. It’s a little loud, and 🎶OoOo barracuda🎶 is also just fun to say. Now back to your regularly scheduled programming.
This week, I was able to savor what it feels like to be unfettered in my own creative process. I hope you’ll join me and my friends here in the party of breaking free. Here’s your invitation to let your razzle dazzle come out to play and find the rhythm that makes your creativity sing.

I am already in the midst of a razzle-dazzle dance party; it never stops, I guess 😆Loved to see this video and hear your voice! I am super inspired to try collage. I have old Seventeen magazines, and if I have the heart to cut them, I might use them in my first collage!
